How should this be attached to the car?

Guys this just doesn't look right. The car I am working on was painted before by a total hack job and I am slowly working my way through the entire car and correcting his re-installations of various trim and what not. One thing I noticed was this screen in the engine bay up on top of the firewall. I can't tell if it is installed right. It looks like a screw should fasten it to the car but there is no hole for a screw. Can anyone offer any help or pictures of how this is installed? If no screw than why is there a tab here?

No screw, mine is the same. That's probably for something our cars don't use.Maybe that screen was used on other models, besides firebirds.
It does tick me off how it pops up like that, mine does that too.

If it bothers you, a good screw would hold it down and look like it came with it.

Ok I was just wondering. The 2 small tabs closer to the window also look like they should be under the sheet metal. I guess this is a universal piece like you are saying.

Thanks. Just another cheesy component these cars came with. Don't get me wrong I love them but damn there is some cheesy designs incorporated into these cars.

There is no screw, mine doesn't even have the 3 tabs like yours. There is however a lip that hooks under the edge of the cowl in the rear and front IIRC. The screen assy, needs to be compressed from front to back to install it. Perhaps the lip is not hooked on yours. Never had that issue with mine.
