Decisions decisions

I'm going through a dilemma where I personally want an Iroc camaro. My neighbor is selling his but I know another guy who has a badass 95 z28 he'd sell to me for $4k. Then there's my friend in my ear about getting a Camaro with an LS1. I like the aggressive look of the Iroc but I love the speed of the two 4th gen. What would you guys choose?

P.s I wasn't really sure where to post this question.

Re: Decisions decisions

Mostly the front clip. the body itself just seems so much longer than third gens. Hell you can get a thurd gen pretty cheap and put an ls1 in it.

I would love to do that but Im new to the whole engine swap thing. I'd definitely have to do some research on it.

Re: Decisions decisions

So what's in the IROC-Z ?
What year ? how many miles ? Engine ?,what trans ?, what gears ?and what's very important is the price.
Its a little hard to give some advise with out that.
With that information we can narrow down suggestions.

Re: Decisions decisions

The fourth gens are obviously going to be better performers, at least if the IROC is stock.

That said, I can't stand the looks of 99% of the fourth gens I see. When I look at them, I think of a Geo Storm that has been squashed to become a wider, longer car.

Ultimately, you have to decide what is most important to you as a starting point. The aggressive look of the IROC, or the performance of the fourth gens.
You can always improve the performance of the IROC(and I am not implying that the IROC is a dog BTW), but that is going to cost time and money.

Re: Decisions decisions

I always looked at the storm as being a scrunched up camaro wanna be, and test drive all of them, see which one is most comfortable to YOU don't worry about anyone else's opinion, that's a lot of money to be making a decision to make others say you made the right choice. I don't think the ls1 cars look that bad, plus you don't have to deal with engine swaps, or the usual 20 year old wear and tear, as well as the standard sagging doors, broke hatch pull downs, and other common third gen headaches.

That being said I love my (well my wife's) third gen because I love working on cars so that doesn't bother me at all!

Re: Decisions decisions

A 4th gen is like a ugly fat girl. She is always ready to perform and does so much better but does it make up for being ugly? Third gens are beautiful but they do not perform as well and are a bit of high-maintenance. LOL..I love the power of the 4th gen Camaros but they are plain UGLY! The Trans Ams look pretty good though.

I think 4th gens look pretty good, it's all personal preference. I got a third gen cause my buddy was selling his and my wife decided she had to have it lol.

Re: Decisions decisions

Well there's a reason why we all belong to thirdgen.org lol, this thread would be biased the other direction if it was a 4th gen site.
