Like I said in a previous post im re doing my firebird trans am and want to underbody it, and was thinking maybe using bed liner? What does everyone else use and how did u apply it
Rubberized undercoating. Not to expensive and leaves a clean look. Its job is to protect ur car and is a pita to take off so i know it does a good job. Just keep it off the paint.
I sandblasted my floors, then applied epoxy primer, topped with Urethane single stage paint (3 coats of each) from Eastwood. After final assembly I will apply a clear coat of oil base undercoating.
That looks pristine! Very nice job. Does the "clear" undercoat actually protect and dampen road noise like asphalt undercoat. Is it sort of like what you see on the lower body sides of high end vehicles?

Thanks, I don't think it will dampen road noise, but will protect against corrosion and moisture. The car hasn't been on the road yet, but I will be putting Aluminum foil Sound Deadener on the inside floors and doors. I went to replace the all the bushings, front and rear with ball joints and decided, If Iam going to go that far, I might as well try and see if I can make the floors look as good as the rest of the car will when it is painted. Its a 1987 5spd vert.
I go to car shows all the time and say to myself, SELF !.... Why can't I get this same look without paying big bucks, and with a little work you can.
