Need Advice for Passenger Mirror

Hiya folks, this is my first thread so I hope I'm in the right place. I am looking to replace my passenger mirror, because the previous owner of my Camaro though it would be funny to cut relfective plastic and glue it on there.

Any tips or advice?

Door panel needs to come off and I can't remember if it was easier with window up or down, I do remember I had to remove the window to get the mirror off at the junkyard but that was only because there was no power and it was electric windows, so I couldn't roll it either way.

Sounds like he just needs the mirror. No need to pull anything else off unless it's a power mirror. Three screws in the housing behind the mirror. A little tricky to get at.

That is correct! All I need is just the glass. Isn't it possible to just pull the mirror off and reattach a new one?

I think the confusion is that people don't really understand what you are asking or what is actually there. Do you still have the plastic backing plate or is that gone, too? If the backing plate is there it's as simple as buying the mirror glass, peeling off the custom job by the previous owner, and installing the new glass. If the backing plate is gone it's a little more complicated.

I have everything, all the parts, nothing missing... except for good glass. :P

I just need new replacement glass, my apologies for the confusion.

I'm cheap, it was cheaper to buy a whole new assembly from junkyard.

You can buy the mirror glass from a bunch of on-line vendors for ~20 bucks

I paid 12 for the assembly and snagged a full set of ebony leather seats from a 4th gen that happened to be there for 45 as well!
