Help! Need attachment info

Have an 88 formula, with no GFX. Removed the rear bumper cover and the plastic eggcrate absorber about two years ago. In spite of numerous pictures, manual research, etc. I can't remember how the absorber attaches to the metal crash bar. The holes are only 3/16 dia, and show no signs of being threaded. Presume I need either plastic rivets, or should they be metal pop rivets??

Thanks!

85-90 used Rivits, the book doesn't say what size,it just says,Rivit,Energy ABS. so that would mean Plastic.

Ok, thanks. I'll have to see if I can find some 3/16 dia ABS rivets.

Yep, I'd already tried them... The challenge is finding one with a long enough "grip" to go through both the absorber and the impact bar.

Re: Help! Need attachment info

Actually finder in the rivet catalogs that most manufacturers ABS rivets are Aluminum Body/Steel mandrel (hence the ABS). Most plastic rivets I've found are Nylon, not ABS plastic. That should make it as easy as visiting my local hardware store.
