I'd like to go with the Carrera seats but I'm worried that I will not fit. I've heard that if you're tall they aren't too great. I'm 6'3"~6'4" and I don't want my head touching the roof. And I'm not going to recline my seat back any; I'd like it fully upright and still have head clearance. One last thing. How do they mount to the car with the custom brackets? Do you have to use the original slide arm assembly from the old seats to move the seat forwards and backward? Do the custom ones go further back? Leg room is always a plus. Thanks if you can answer any of these questions.

The GP is going on until Friday December 28th. Email me for prices because they cannnot be listed on here due to how low they are.

soulbounder: I am posting this for Larry at Speed Inc. I myself am new to the seats, I plan on getting the Forzas though. I am pretty sure you don't use any part of your original brackets for the new ones. All the information I have gotten is from Corbeau's site (link in original post). Here is a link to a post that a guy made that has these particular seats you are asking about. Not sure if it will help but I think he has an email link to where you could email that guy and ask him about his experiences.

http://www.ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/u...c&f=3&t=000188

Also you can email Larry at Speed Inc, and I am sure he would know a lot more about these than I do. Shoot him and email he is a great guy to deal with.

I bought a pair of Corbeau Targs RS seats about 8 months ago for my 92 Camaro RS. Here are some things you ought to know. First , these seats sit alot higher than the stock seats. I'm a short guy (5'6") and I have about 1" clearance between my head and the roof. Second,My right shoulder belt hole on the passenger seat has started to come apart, and I have'nt even anything through that hole yet. The hole has a two piece plastic ring that has seperated. Of course I could probably glue the two pieces together, but for the money I paid for them, you would think they should hold up better than that. I'm so concerned about the workmanship, that when I start autocrossing, I'm gonna put some real racing seats in. Of course, this is a single case, and you may get a better product, just thought you should know.

Thanks for the info. But I do believe all these seats are different. I plan on getting the forzas, but I hear a lot of people like the Carreras. Those seem to be the more popular ones.

I understand what you are saying I have seen many GP's on web boards that I want to get in on that aren't the right timing for me either, but there really isn't much I can say about this one. But I can promise you the price can't get much better than these? Have I sent you the pricing?
Actually what I plan on doing because I don't have a whole lot of money is buying just one seat, bracket and harness now and buy the passenger side stuff later one when I have a little more money. You could do it that way too if you want. I guess it all depends on why you want the seats (looks or lighter weight for racing). I am all about going as fast as I can and the lighter the better so that is my reason. I don't care how the interior looks....hell i have the rear seats stripped out. But when it all comes down to it it's all up to you. But don't ask everyone else to ditch this one just because you want to wait, that is not fair to them. There could possibly be another GP on these after a couple of months. I am a member of lots of different web boards and it works differently all the time. Most of the time the sponsors just list what they decide they want to list as a special price/GP, and some times people just say basicly...."hey how bout a GP on......" and then a sponsor repsonds and says "hey we can do those for ......" When another GP for these seats comes up I will post here again for you, but like I said, please don't ask or expect anyone else to not get in on it right now just because you can't afford it.

TTT

BTW, I know maybe some of you might be thinking that you can't afford to buy 2 seats with brackets right now, but I wouldn't pass up these prices. Since I can't afford to do both sides (passenger&Driver) I am just buying for the drivers side right now and then when I get more money I will buy the passenger side. Just a thought

I'm still researching about the Carreras. I want to be able to fit in my car. Perhaps I'll get in on another GP but they still won't be cheap for me. I'll be going two tone leather with a custom design most probably. $800+ per seat One last question for those who own the Carreras. Are the seats themselves larger than firebird seats? Is the seat cushion thicker or is the back taller? Thanks.

I know what he said, but I guess it could depend on the car. The Carrera seats seem to be the more popular ones due to the fact that the Forza style is more for a smaller person. I'm not sure how they work in a 3rd gen, I would ask for more opinions on this one if I were you. There was a recent post on a LS1 web board where a guy posted pictures of his interior and he had 2 red Carreras in the car and had nothing but good things to say about them. And I think someone on this board in this forum posted pictures of there interior with Corbeau seats in there car.

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...threadid=73669

Talk to that person and ask them what they think about theres.

I did. According to Larry at Speed, Inc. the brackets were shipping later (by the 25th?). Haven't heard from him since the 7th regarding delivery status. I'll have to give him a call Monday to find out the latest as I will be picking everything up in person.

CamaroCain, you really need to find yourself a harness bar. If you should have an accident you WILL compress your spine. Possibly causing paralyzing. The shoulder straps should be mounted no further than 4 inches below the shoulder line. In an accident you will be pushed down by the forces of the belts. i would suggest putting the stockers back in, moving the mounting points, or getting a roll-bar. This is just for your safety.

All of the spec's can be seen on Simpson's web site. www.simpson.com

Ok my first question to you is, did you try and send me an email? Because this is what I got back from my internet/email provider:

"The virus software on ev1.net has reported that you were
sent a virus from cyZ28@prodigy.net, with the subject "Re:".
The E-mail containing the virus has been removed to prevent further damage.

the W32/BadTrans@MM virus !!! was found in file: SETUP.DOC.scr"

And to comment on your suggestion. I cannot and willnot put a roll bar in the car right now, because I have a 1 year old little girl that sits in a child seat in the back and I dont think that would work very well. I don't mean to say it like this but if something happens then it does. The stock seatbelts with that seat are not comfortable at all on the shoulder now with the way the seat is designed. My car is not driven but maybe once a week if even that and sometime to the track for a few passes on Sundays. Got the car in June and it just now has almost 2500 miles on it. I understand what you are saying and I thank you for letting me know.

Actually I saw that im my E-mail and no, I didn't try to send you one. This is a little strange. HMMM

I'm gonna have to call in a professional.
