Super Victor, what cowl hood to clear it?
Just wondering, would a Super Victor (2925) with an air cleaner, would a 3" cowl hood clear it?
Or a Super victor 2(2892), with an air cleaner, would it fit with a 4" cowl hood?
Super victor is 5.5" tall
Super vic 2 is 6.56" tall

Re: Super Victor, what cowl hood to clear it?
I've been wondering this myself. I have a 3" Harwood and it seems I have 1.5" clearance with my Torker II. That intake is killing some top end on my 408. I want to go with a Weiand Team G and I'm undecided which height plenum to go with. I might get the short one and just use a spacer to maximize my height. I also might go with a taller filter to let it breath better. If no one else can answer before I take that step, I'll develop a baseline with my hood and Weiand.

Thanks for the reply!
The torker 2 has a intake manifold height of 4.080".
So if you had an air cleaner on it, and had 1.5" of room.
Then you **could* possibly use the super vic(2925) because it is 5.5"(1.5" higher than yours)

Yeah unfortunately my car is stored about 2.5 hours from where I live and all I did to guess that measurement is eyeball it a few months ago. You might need to step up to a 4" cowl to get the Super Victor to fit under it, but I'm sure that would work. There's just some question marks that I unfortunately can't walk outside or to the garage to check on right now.

i guess it would depend on what size filter/element your using? 2, 3, 4 inch? drop base air cleaner? i'd probably go with the bigger cowl to be safe and be able to run the largest element possible.

Yeah that would be my advice if you don't already have the hood. Go with the 4" cowl so you can stuff as tall of a filter in there as possible. I'm kind of stuck with my 3" because I already have it.

Just a little update for you, I have a 3" Harwood cowl hood. With a Proform 14" breather assembly with 3" tall filter and Torker II intake, I can actually flip my drop base so it raises the breather up into the cowl hood and still have space to close the hood. It was interesting to walk up the hill from the house and see my breather sticking above the fender when my hood was open.

One way to find out how much room there is between the filter lid and the hood when its close is to use play-doh or clay.
Just make a round tall tower on the top of the filter assembly and close the hood.
When you open it you will have an exact measurement of the space.
Worked for me.

I ran a Performer RPM intake with a 1" open spacer, Holley 4150 HP carb, edelbrock 10" dia. air filter housing with a K&N 10x4" air filter under a harwood bolt on 4" cowl hood.

Update!
Engine is in the car.
I'm using a Edelbrock 2970 intake. It's 6.36" tall and a 1" spacer.
I have 3" worth of room between my dominator carb and the hood.
So I'm going to use a 2.4" tall air filter so I can drive it on the street.
