Ram air hood

Does anyone here have a ram air hood? I have installed one on my 85 and made it functional. Is there an specs for cut outs in the back of the hood to keep it from separating? I have cut 2-1 1/2"x6" in the back and just want to make sure that's enough for air flow.

Re: Ram air hood

Do you have any pictures? My hood has the inside holes cut but not the outside. I have been wanting to cut holes on the outside to make it more functional. What I don't understand is why they would cut the inside holes and not the backside.

Re: Ram air hood

I'll take some pictures when I get home this evening with what I have done. The cables aren't on the pins anymore but I needed them to get a better fit on the sides and to help keep it secure. Mine was fully enclosed on the inside when I got it, so the airflow was going nowhere. I bought the ram air filter from Hawks and cut out the hood to accept it then threw some cut outs in the back just for the air to push through. Had it up to about 85mph when I started to see a bit of lifting. I've made some adjustments and just waiting for the weather to clear up before I give it another boot. After all the time I've put into it I don't want it separating in half haha

Re: Ram air hood

Your hood is constructed way different than mine. Where and when did you purchase it? I bought mine from ramairhoods.com in 2006.

I'll ask a friend of mine and see if he has the same hood as you. He also needed hood pins to get his hood to fit better.
