Matching Key Lock Cylinders

The Firebird I recently purchased has a different key for the trunk than the doors.

What's the best way to get them to match? Do I need to buy three key cylinders (doors and trunk) that match? And if so, does anyone know of a source?

Or is it possible to have the trunk key cylinder re-keyed to match the doors?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Matching Key Lock Cylinders

Sometimes sellers on Ebay sell matched sets. I have seen the whole set, with the optional rear floor storage compartment key, and the little storage box key as well. another option might be to take the cylinder to a locksmith and see if it can be rekeyed.

If you aren't in a hurry I have a set; hatch, storage box, both doors. I'll have to pull them though, which might take a week or so. PM me if you're interested.

Re: Matching Key Lock Cylinders

Most reputable locksmiths can re-key the cylinders with no problem. When I bought my '87 IROC it didn't come with any door keys so i took the drivers side lock to my local locksmith and had him make me new keys. It cost me $27 with tax for the service and took a few hours to do.
