I've had this car for 22 years and in a few months it will be considered vintage where I live and I won't have to do emissions or inspections. I know light covers may be old scool, but so is 1987. I tinted the windshield at 35 and I really like it.

I love the look, its just not very practical. I had headlight covers when I was younger, it made it hard to see at night. You may get out of emissions and inspections but you can still get pulled over and ticketed for it, at least here in Wisconsin.
Never seen anyone tint the windshield. Looks awesome. I also like the headlight covers. I wondered if they make your headlights harder to see during night driving. Looks really nice man. Awesome IROC!
One of those tinted third brake lights would really go with the taillight covers IMO. Third brake light kinda stands out now. Looks nice though. Do those covers scratch easily. Been thinking of getting some.
I agree on the brake light. I had covers a long time ago and don't remember then scratching that easily. I'm sure headlights will appear more dim. The front ones pop out in a matter of seconds if you were worried about it.
In the states I have lived in tinting the center portion of the windshield was absolutely illegal. Is it legal in Utah or have you just not been ticketed yet?
I think it's illegal in every state to fully tint the windshield. Unless you have a medical waiver. I had one for my daily driver (not my firebird), almost 7 years, was never pulled over for it, but had state / doctors permission slip in glove box if needed...
I think it will just depend on the mood of the cop... and being a sports car (my daily drvier was not)...
If you haven't driven it at night, get prepared for trippy looking lights... the tint with the plastic laminate inside the glass does funny things at night... During the day it's fine..
I do have permission to do my Firebird too, but not there yet... But more than use to the trippy night lights
When I drive it will almost always be with the tops off. With that much light coming in you'd be hard pressed to notice it is tinted. And I don't think their light meter can read windshields. This car isn't driven much so I'm not concerned in the least. And i could be wrong, but I think utah law allows 70 percent on windshield (which is basically clear)

Just looked up Utah tint laws: http://www.protintutah.com/car-tint-...tah-tint-laws/ http://tintlaws.com/utah-window-tint-law.php
Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line. Must allow more than 70% below AS-1 line.
AND
Utah does allow exemptions: requires a doctors recommendation and Utah highway patrol exemption letter.
BUT the other site says: State law does NOT allow medical exemptions that would allow you use special tint.
Either way I think your next step needs to be finding out what the penalty is for having a tinted windshield. Non-moving violation or moving violation. Moving violation is usally a $50-200 ticket (or just rip it off) and you can get lots of them and they stay of your record. Moving violation is where you run into trouble.
Tell me how you mounted them (front covers) so they can pop out in seconds ? I just had my car painted looking for a good non invasive way to mount mine. .... Thanks.
A 2" long, black, plastic c channel is double sided taped to each side of the headlight bucket. You just bend the lens slightly to pop it out. The c channels would remain.
Looks killer!!!!!!!!!!! I've always lost my headlight covers, no matter how secure they seem to be one always flies off. Here's my 92 with rear blackouts.
If you were worried about it coming off you could drill a hole in the lens where it is under the hood and tie some small rope through to a spot behind the headlights.
