Crazy idea in my head....MIRRORS!!

Mods if in the wrong place please move

I wasn't sure where to put this, but I thought you guys would think this is a pretty cool mod for your exterior look.

I know this applies to the bullet mirrors but it also works on the 3rd gen mirrors as well or any other thing you want to install these on......Hope it helps some, I wanted to incorporate some of the ideas that have been swirling around in my head that I wanted to try I scrounged up some pennies and bought the supplies needed to make my turn signal mirrors like on the newer cars..... all in all it took about an hour to put what I had in my head to the mirror!

They are brighter than I expected actually, I still have to mount them permanently but you get the idea. I also only used 3 led's I am going to remake the lens to hold 4.

Pretty cool.
What are you using for lights and how did you made that lens?

I made the lens out of clear acrylic quarter-inch and I use 3 mm LEDs

Re: Crazy idea in my head....MIRRORS!!

It might be better to use something already built for another car and have it integrated into the mirror. Cutting the mirror all the way to the trailing edge with nothing to support it, doesn't look correct. I would think a module from another vehicle encased in a plastic housing would provide a much more finished look.

Re: Crazy idea in my head....MIRRORS!!

That's a great looking mirror and I love that design as well, seeing as how I'm just a average guy with a couple of tools.... this was my best attempt at making something that I had in my head. I wish I had the CAD software and automated machines to produce something like that.

Maybe someone else can attempt it like I did and build a better mousetrap, I'll definitely be tuning in!!

I think its cool, I also would like to see it when it is done. I like when people get creative.
