Fuel Door Alignment Issues? Here's the fuel door gasket part #
I couldn't find this on here before, but here's the part # for the proper way to align the fuel door (i know there's a tech article saying to use washers) but this is the proper way. Usually need 1-3 of these from what I've been told

It's a discontinued part, sadly.
If you could maybe put a ruler next to the scanned image of it.. it could be re-created most likely.

What is this junk... yard? that you speak of? It sounds like an amazing place with streets paved of thirdgen parts.
Last thirdgen I saw in a junkyard here was so bad, I'd be hard pressed to find anything on it of any use...

There's been a bit of a dry spell as far as thirdgens in junkyards here in Colorado. Having just shimmed my fuel door with washers, I find it quite interesting that there was actually a gasket used to shim it. I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to make one yourself, even without the exact measurements.

If you do, I am in for a few. When I had my car repainted, the painter lost the gasket and I had to buy a thin sheet of gasket material and trace out a new one, to the best of my ability. It did the job, but I would prefer a copy of the original.

Will let everyone know on here if/when it's available. May be a little time with trying to get the car done before Thirdgen Expo. Once I figure out a way to mass replicate them, I'll put them up for sale for those that want to repair their car correctly

After a disassemble and respray, the fuel door just doesn't seem to align well.
Might try a new gasket to see if that helps..

My 82 still has the rubber gasket. When I was putting the car back together from paint recently, I reused it and I still spent 2 hours trying to get the door the way I wanted it. It's a little finicky even with the gasket.
