Steering wheel column turn signal lever
Sounds stupid but how do you remove it? My girlfiend got mad when this other dude cut her off, and she yanked it up so hard (when she was signaling right) it snapped off!
I need to remove the stub left in the column and replace it.
...I knew i shouldn't have let her drive

What? She was actually using the turn signal
! No way, I don't know a single girl that uses turn signals while driving. No offense to all you ladies on this board who drive 3rd gens, you're cool.

Fixing your column by yourself.
I suggest that you go to a steering colummn specialist. I have heard horror stories about people trying to do it themselves. My brights switch is broken (part of the blinker switch) is broken. $150 dollars for a gentleman in Greenwood, LA. I plan on having mine done by this man because he is a specialist. If you think you can do this yourself, go to the dealership request the part (most likly $20+ for a peice of plastic) and look at the picture on their screen. Your jaw will hit the floor when you se the exploded view of the steering column. Good luck. The parts guy can direct you to a specialist because the only people who buy those parts are specialist.

Okay i got the lever out but there's that wire you were all talking about. GM once again making f-body maintenance
easier
. A trip to the boneyard yielded me a good turn signal lever out of a firebird. Anyway the GTA has those steering radio controls...was wondering if the leather piece in the center of the wheel (with the radio controls) pops off as well cuz i'm gonna need to pull the wheel (I need to anyway because i'm having the wheel restitched).

If yours is like my 91 TA the two wires unplug before they go into the steering collum, its an easy fix. As for the dimmer switch and the $15 piece of plastic, that is held in place by the cover plate that is under the switch. Mine was broken and I couldn't figure it out, but my 92 jeep had the same turn/wiper/dimmer/blinker controle , so I topok it apart and the cover plate holds the rod and plastic piece in place. Good luck
