Would someone mind posting close up pictures of 3rd brake light under the flat spoiler on the 87-90 Firebirds (not aero wing or wrap around).I am looking for close ups from front back and sides.I am trying to fit a brake light under my spoiler but it not going so well. I want to make sure I have the right one and see how well they fitted originally.

Here is what I have.
What I can tell you is that I have an 84 Trans Am, and it did not come with ANY third brake light. Good luck.

 

Thanks for that. I think these brake lights were used on the 87-90 Formula's.

 

Look on eBay. I've seen many LED strip lights (usually from China, some with USA seller) that you might be able to adapt as a third brake light.

 

Those photos skip the one third brake light that this thread refers to.

All Formulas have the wrap around wing. The third brake light started in 86, at the top outside of the hatch. In 87 on models with a rear spoiler, it moved to between the spoiler and decklid. In 91 it moved again to the inside top of the hatch glass.

So you're looking for photos of a 87-90 Firebird base model.

Sorry for the late reply. This is the one I have but can't get get it to fit properly under the spoiler. Is this brakelight supposed to be bolted to the decklid also?
