Aero wing installation??

Hi I just bought a new aero wing spoiler for my car and was wondering if there are any bolt sets I should buy or what I should do to install this wing?

These are the clips the wing has to go in, but the wing doesn't have any clips or anything to clip in?

Any info or things I need to buy to install this wing would be great! Thank you!

Who's wing did you buy Rob?

From what I've read, the Hawk's wing comes with hardware, but does not re-use those factory anchor points as I understand it.

I bought it on eBay from mvp-imports. They were running a sale and the wing was like 100$ off

OK. I know there is at least one other manufacturer of these, maybe a couple. My understanding is that Hawk's source is theirs alone. And as I have a Hawk's spoiler (not yet installed), those are the only posts I have followed.

I'm sure someone here with experience in the other types will chime in soon. Good luck with it. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of it installed.

Re: Aero wing installation??

So I'm now 100% certain it come with no bolts. I do think I know why I got it so cheap though.. so here are a few pictures of the wing. There are a bunch of marks all over the wing. I'm not really concerned about that because I can sand them down before I paint it. But at the end of the wing there is a chip taken out of it.....here's a few pics

Here's the chip in the bottom

And here's how it fits. I never installed one and it doesn't seem to fit right, but if that's how they are supposed to be, tight like that, let me know please

The wing flipped

Any thoughts?

classic industries makes the other and have heard less favorable opinions on that one. are there any bolt holes on the underside? what i did was i made a pencil mark on the body where the slots are on the glass. i set my wing on the car where it sat comfortably on the hatch. i transferred those marks onto the wing and then turn the wing over and run a screw in each of those pockets. this will cleanly mount the wing similar to factory.

Re: Aero wing installation??

That is not good. Mine from Classic Industries wasn't perfect and took a lil sanding and massaging to make it fit but I'm happy with it overall. It came with a few clips I didn't have a lot of trouble with it at all.

Re: Aero wing installation??

Yea I mean there's not much I can do and I'm not paying 100 shipping to send it back. I'm just going to fill in all the marks and sand it down really good and to install it I think I'm going to make some pencil marks and drill in some screws and just slide the screws into the slots considering I have no hardware. I still have the hardware from my old one to put the third light in and to bolt it at the bottom. I read up on this so I hope it works good

It doesn't lay on to bad. Just on the one side I'm going to have to tug the wing into the slot. It should hold very nicely

I have a pic of the original clips, but it looks like the hardware is missing from the bottom of the wing so the clips wouldn't do you any good.

Yes I am hoping that the screws will slide and hold it in very nice.

Re: Aero wing installation??

Does anyone have any suggestions to fill in those cracks and something that works well with fiberglass like bondo does with metal.

Fiberglass resin for larger and spot putty for smaller. Your local auto paint supplier is an excellent source of information as well with products on hand usually.
