Re: Door Glass -- 92 Camaro
I haven't seen repro glass available for our cars, so junkyard. Try to find a donor car as close to the same year as possible. Technically the glass from an early car would probably interchange but some of the random hardware in the door changed over the years.

Only 88 bucks for a side window!
I wonder if its OEM or china glass?
No matter because all auto glass has to meet NHTSA
safety specs.
Pick a part yard $20 bucks...........

Re: Door Glass -- 92 Camaro
I haven't seen a 90 to 92 (mine is a 92) in a pick a part yard in Colorado, Washington or Oregon (all places I frequent) with good glass in over a year.
My concern with the ones I listed is are they reputable. Their websites don't have much info on their companies.

Re: Door Glass -- 92 Camaro
Thanks for the info but it is not all that clear to me that they (Rick's) have the correct glass or that they have it for both sides. Looking for local pickup anyway to avoid shipping costs.

Well then..............
I guesss your gonna end up with the re-pop glass from the local
supplier.
I wonder if that glass is tinted?

Re: Door Glass -- 92 Camaro
Don't get me wrong, I buy a lot from Rick's Camaros. Thought I was going to get lucky this past weekend as I found a 91 (finally) in a pull a part yard. Unfortunately, both door glasses were badly scratched.
Here is what I have found with the websites I mention above:
They advertise glass from the major OEM manufacturers, good but if you can't reach them or confirm they are reputable it makes you wonder if you should order from them.
www.autoglass.net -- Not responsive. No main office location advertised.
www.autoglass-shop.com/diy-auto-glass-parts.html -- Not responsive to email or phone. Quote they sent didn't have any price on it. No main office location advertised.
www.glass2go.com/ -- Only list newer car glass.
Headed to Safelite today to see if they will sell glass only.

Re: Door Glass -- 92 Camaro
Well, back at it again... I had tried autoglass.net but could never get them to call me back or email me.. I ordered from Camaro Central.. I just got that glass but now I am I don't know if it will fit. The part number on the box comes back as door glass for 82 to 84 Camaro.. Mine is a 92.. Anybody know if it will fit before I try to pull the old glass..

Re: Door Glass -- 92 Camaro
I've got all 'late' hardware and glass installed my 84.
The glass will fit fine,..... the "problem" is just that the hardware is different. check out this pic: left side is the "early" and the left side is the "late" door glass hardware. Should be able to just remove the 84 hardware, install the 92 hardware and then install the glass.

Re: Door Glass -- 92 Camaro
Thanks. In looking at the holes, two of the three near the rear of the glass look closer together on the late glass (my current glass) compared to the early glass (the new glass that shows as 82 to 84). I can't quite get a good measurement. Also, the early glass (the ones I just got) have an extra hole near the front. With these two issues was concerned the new (early glass) won't line up with the late hardware.
Looks like I will have to pull one of my old glass first and see if the holes line up with the new glass to be sure. Was going to have the new glass tinted before I install them but that isn't a critical issue. Don't want to tint them until I make sure they fit.
