Pulled these doors off my 85 project but trying to figure out why the drivers door is different. The bracket that holds the window track at the front is not attached and there doesn't seem to be a hole for it like on the passenger door. Also the armrest mount is a bit different. All the other doors I have are the same as the passenger door.

Getting ready to put doors back on to paint and trying to get these details worked out
I suspected the door was pre 85, all the others I have to look at are 85+ too. Does anyone have a picture of the bracket that I need inside the door to hold the track? Or should I just drill the door and bolt in the later bracket
Technically, if you have all of the parts to both type doors, once installed with door panels on and painted, you would never know the difference. Below are some pictures of the triangle and track that the early doors use:
The later doors went to a once piece setup that mounts completely different. They are not interchangeable at all.
Thank you for the pics. I'll look and see what is in the door now. I'm not too worried about it being "wrong" for the year if it works since this door is already prepped, primed, and partly painted for the car now.
Looking to buy the window track and "triangle" piece for an 82-84 door. (as shown above) I need the whole setup so I can bolt the window track up on my door correctly, the PO just slipped the track parts into the current door from the original.
hey, I have all the guts from a early trans am, I don't know exactly what year, i just needed some of the sheet metal, if your anywhere near Cincy you can have whatever you need
