1982 Trans Am, black upper body paint with gold lower body paint from the factory.

Does anyone know what the paint code is for the lower gold portion of the body?

What does your radiator support tag say? There will be numbers similar to 15L 17U

The number with the L will be the lower one. If you can post that number with the L, I can look up the code on the PPG paint system at work and give you the WA paint code

My 82 Z28 shows the same number for each....so I'm not sure that number will get anywhere or not

My tag says 19L 19U.

 

19 is black. Figured that be a long shot..... I don't know how else to find it. I can try searching again tomorrow for a gold that was used from 82.

 

I found that Gold Wing, 55/55E is a 1982 color. As I said my tag has 19L.

IF your trim tag has the same upper (U) and lower (L) codes you have a monochrome paint scheme. Your example of 19L 19U means your car is Black Code 19 Upper and Black Code 19 Lower.

This is incorrect on many thirdgens. They used the same code for upper and lower, and they matched the primary color of the car. In this case, black.

I found a code of 54 for the gold stripes used on the '82 Z28. Since the stripes are three color, I wouldn't use that unless you can confirm that it is the right color gold.
