Faded

My 84 z28 roof and hood are fading, assume the solids in the clear are breaking down.
Woul I be safe to sand with 320 grit red scuff then seal and paint. The clear is solid, not peeling anywhere.
What's your thoughts?

I'm a professional painter at a Chrysler dealership, and I do that same series of steps all the time.

Re: Faded

84 is single stage enamel no clear unless its a repaint.
Try wet sand and buff first.

You can still do the same steps right over enamel

Re: Faded

I would just buff with polishing compound.
