Does anybody know the what thread the door strikers are on our cars? My doors are adjusted and I don't want to take mine out to measure the threads. I can get shouldered allen bolts a lot cheaper than the door striker kits and can clean them up on my lathe in a few minutes if I need too.

 

Anybody parting a car that wants to sell a door striker?

 

Is it M10 x 1.5?

 

I measured one. The thread is 7/16-14 UNC. There is a thick steel plate that the door latch bolt threads into. Remove the door vent and reach inside the hole to find this threaded plate. You could conceivable pull tgat plate from the pocket it is held in, then weld up the threaded hole in that plate and drill and tap it to a new different thread size. I wouldn't go smaller than the existing thread.
