T-top seal issues

I just purchased the Metro brand t top seals, I believe, from 1A Auto. Hatch fit fine, doors fit great. T-tops not so much. Now I know there are several threads about seals on here but I haven't seen another with this situation.

The windshield edge of the seals seems to be too long. If I screw in the corner where I should, it bows up and appears to be too much material that I would never be able to compress in there. If I leave it unscrewed as you can see below, it appears to sit OKAY. Now, is it correct in that spot (unscrewed)? Or is it too far out? Am I messing up my installation? Also, inside corners seem to fit a little odd too. What do you guys think?

I think they're mis-made. I think also I'm glad I spent the $$$$ for GM seals...

I will agree they are missing made. I have been back and forth with 1Aauto through emails and calls about the issue. Sent various pictures and information to them as well. Hopefully I just need a new set.

Only thing worse than vendors selling CRAP, aftermarket parts, is after the buyer presents the problem, the vendor starts a "Song And Dance" routine, or the old "Yours is the first compliant" BS!

They went back and forth with me about me having c&c tops. I eventually ended up emailing them a picture of my. Build sheet to prove that I dont. Really frustrating situation.

Out of all the posts in here and searches I've done, that is one brand I have yet to hear about.

Where were you in 1958, when Steele Rubber began?

Re: T-top seal issues

Looks like you don't have the center bar section completely seated. The back edge of that seal should be under the center trim. You have to get the lips seated in the tracks completely. Not sure that will get rid of all of that bowing though. Always start at the center bar and work your way across on both sides. The A ad B pillar is last. All of the sets I've installed, including Metro, I always have to stretch a bit as I go to get them where they need to be.

They are just thrown on the car to show you. When I installed them they were fully seated in the bar.
