So i recently bought a 91 firebird after a late night marketplace browsing. The owner was asking 900 and after some haggling i was able to get it cheap. I wont say how cheap, but ive spent more on beer in one weekend lol. I knew when i got it that it was extremely rusty and destined to be parted out but i wanted to beat on it a little before that happens. So, its a 91, base model im assuming, ws6, l03 700r4 and someone thought it was a good idea to throw a set of 4:10s in the open diff.... Its rusty, not your average rust either, i mean ROTTED OUT! Ive never seen one this bad, if you have please share lol Onto the pics loaded up from meth valley finally home check out the state of neglect um, must be an aftermarket 2 piece rotor oh thats nasty look at that nice tire though
So go ahead and let me have it. "that thing is junk" "who would want that thing" "other similar comments" It was dirt cheap, it runs, and moves lol.
Holy cow! I've never seen one that far gone. Amazing how our cars rust...from underneath....still looks good on the outside. Looks like some good parts though.
So I wont bother posting pics of how i "fixed" the rear end, (because i know how that'll go) but i will say about 2 spools of .030 wire was burnt up in the process, and its plenty solid now.
Pretty sharp 20 footer eh? hahaha
Yes its not worth it, no its not worth a damn penny, But its mine, its cheap and not terrible to look at. Oh did i mention that this thing was daily driven by the previous owner? LMAO
ehh, what the hell, i throw in some pics of the external "rust repair". And yes, i know it wont last long, but guess what the car is garbage anyway hahahaha The old foam and kitty scratch over a massive rust hole is always classy. Plus the 4 different shades of blue are a nice touch.
Gnarly Like new!! hahahaha face palm Joe dirt approves otherside was the same way, it got the same treatment
Yeah i know, junk it! in due time my friends. Its day will come come
...Well... ...the outside...um looks good. I don't know if that car is safe to drive though with all of that rust, missing metal I see in those two pics above. Yours is not the worst I've seen though. About 8 years ago, I was in the Louisville, KY pull-apart and there was a see-though 82 Trans Am there, when I say see through, I mean I could't find a single metal piece that was salvageable, not one panel. I'm not even sure how it was retaining it's shape. I was getting the seats out of it (just the seats, foam/fabric), the tracks were completely "dissolved" and the whole car was "moving" while I was in it like an old rusty barrel. It was insane. I took pictures, but can't find them. I've wanted to post them so bad, it's the worst I've ever seen. It would make everyone's eyes pop out on here. It was god awful. Yours wouldn't even hold a candle to it.

Ive welded enough material in to be sturdy. Not pretty by any means, but safe non the less
Drive it like you stole it! As a kid we took an old Ford Futura in this shape cut the top off it, welded up sum glasspacks, put mudgrip tires on the back, unbolted the doors and we had a ball terrorizing the backroads with it.
Got to love the rust belt. When someone out West or down South say it's rusty I have to laugh. Unless you are on the coast, there is normally no comparison. But every area has it's issues. Sun beat paint and totally hashed interiors kills them in other special ways.
