Getting rid of smoke smell from seats??

I just bought some 95 camaro seats for my 86 camaro.. They are in good condition but smell like smoke. I have already steam cleaned them and they still smell like smoke. Does anyone have any sugestions to get rid of the smell. I have not installed them yet..

Thanks for any info..

DAN

simple, get them steam cleaned, same way you clean your carpets, go rent a steam cleaner and clean them. dirt devil makes one that works nicely.

GTA007 is right on the $$. It works very good and leaves your seats all springtime fresh If you dont like springtime, they also make a "clean car scent". Soak your seats with fabreeze (sp?) and let them sit in the sun for the day. Repeat as needed. Worked great for me!

As you probably know the smell is also in the cushions too so soaking them in something may be your only solution short of new cushions or seats altogether.

fabreeze works great for geting out smoke smell.. i used to smoke in my moms car and spray it down with that when i got out, so she couldnt smell the smoke in the car. make sure there somewhere u can let them sit for a day or too. i wouldnt keep them outside in the sun, but someplace well ventalited. spray them down every couple hours for a day, then let them set for a day. if the smell doesnt come out, then sell them and get a diff set of seats.
