1991 Hood Blisters
I just picked up a 1991 Z28 in March, and I am slowly getting everything right. it is amazing to me how some people can turn a cool car like this to junk. Anyway, the hood blisters on the car are, of course, the same color as the body, but the oval depression that faces you while driving is painted black. The owner before me hand painted them with a small brush and rustolem. No masking, no spraying, just hand painted them. It looks awful. Like a three year old going outside the lines in a coloring book. I tried to remove the paint with several products, but red started to come off around the edges. I then sanded off as much black as I could, and made an inlay of carbon fiber tape. It looks OK, but it is not a long term fix. I'll post pics of the inlays if anyone wants to see them.
Honestly, i do not like the blisters. I like the iroc louvers better, but I am not sure that they would look good on my car, as it is not an iroc. I have been looking at these Trackspec Motorsport Louvers and they are really cool:

I am just not sure if they would fit on a '91 hood that came with blisters. The application chart says that they fit 85-90 models. Can someone chime in and let me know if they have used these, and if they will fit a 1991 z-28 hood?
Another option would be to remove the blisters and sand them all the way down and have them repainted. I was thinking about having them painted black, as it would be a good contrast to the red I think.
Please let me know what some of you have done with the blisters louvers. I am open to suggestions.
Thanks!

No problem. Yeah it will get a little wet, but you can make a rain tray for it if you are worried about it. I have not yet because I normally dont have it out in the rain, and it sits in the garage. The last down pour i was stuck in didnt seem to let a ton of water in while i was moving. Im sure if it was just sitting there it would. Check out the build thread that detroit speed has on here for the dse-z, and you can get an idea of how you would make a tray for it.
