I'm currently taking out my headliner to have it repaired and I've got everything done so far except removing the dome light housing. I can't get these these two ring-like brackets off holding the black housing on. I don't want to break it, so somebody help me out, please!

 

Try pushing up on the housing so you can grab the retainers with some needle nose pliers or get behind them with a small screwdriver. I remember when I took my interior apart those things are a PITA.

 

Thanks. I just used two flathead screwdrivers to pry the washer thing off. Hopefully, it'll be easier from here on out.
