Got hit when turning, fender is messed up. Can’t seem to find whether a 1985 fender wl work and the 1982s are few and far between. Can somebody tell me how the 82-84 fenders are different than the 85-92s and whether one would work? Thanks so much I’m so sad this happened

Yes, it will physically fit.

You will have to have the 5 holes for the 85 ground effects welded up though.

The hole for the fender vent is the same as the 82-84.

i was assuming the 85 trans am fender. the firebird fenders should be the same 82-92

 

when you say physically fit is there another way for it to fit? Mine is a non trans am so will a 1985 non trans am fender work ? Some people say there’s a lip that’s shaped differently

 

also some people say that there’s different mounting holes, is this true?

they are physically the same size. some mounting holes could vary, but that is true of any aftermarket panel.

 

i am planning to use 85-90 ta fenders on the 84 we are rebuilding. just gonna weld up the 5 small gfx holes.

I don't know all of the specifics of the fenders throughout the years or if this helps you, but I installed 82 Trans Am fenders on a 91 Trans Am GTA for a buddy and they bolted right on. There was no elongating of any holes or re-drilling any mounting holes. They went right on using the original bolts from the 91.
