How to take out console?

Hello everyone! I have a 3rd gen Firebird and I am in the process of replacing my carpet, but can't get the center console out? Where are the bolts after to take it out without breaking it? I have an automatic, I took off the 2 screws in glove box and 2 by power window switch, and that is all the screws visible. Please help! Thanks... Andy

its pretty straight forward.

1) remove the 2 (7mm) screws on the plastic trim piece (under the front lip of the arm rest)

2) remove ash-tray and one (7mm) screw from under it.

3) gently remove the radio pod trim piece (pop's off)

4) remove the center console trim piece (pops off)

5) remove the light plug for the glove boc (center console)

6) remove the wires from the window switches & the power mirrors (If applicable)

7) twist to remove the little light holder for the gear shift indicator.

8) unplug your cig lighter

9) remove 3 10mm screws for the actual console 2 inside the glove compartment, 1 faces forward in the middle of the console.

Hope that helps

John

Andy,
that is why I stick around here more than at the Formula source. I personally like the formula Source, but there are too few of people to really keep things going like around there...

glad I was of assistance.
