1989 Firebird Door latch assembly

I need a new drivers side door latch assembly and all I can find is a 1988, does anyone know what the difference is from 1988 to 1989?

Thanks

I was wondering because the part is listed as fitting 82 to 88, so it confused me....

The difference is mostly the counter sunk hole on the early doors, Vs flat on the later doors, but the latches appear to be the same. I bought these for my 84 and later transferred them to my 89.

Well, changed the latch assembly today. Didnt fix the issue, it will unlock, but wont lock. The actuator isnt moving the rod at all when you try to lock it. I'm at a loss, any ideas, guys?

Everything else works fine. At this point, everything in the door is new except the rods and they are in good shape, nothing bent or anything. Its got new lock cylinder, new outer door handle, new latch assembly, new actuator. The only thing I havent touched is the little thing that connects the actuator to the door lock rod. Its riveted in the door and cant find a new one anyway. Even when I move the actuator by hand, the actuator rod doesnt move the lock rod at all when you try to lock it.

I was going to say maybe your rods are a little out of shape but you say their good,I'm curios about the actuator though,if it's not moving into the lock position it could be the actuator.I know you said it's new but sometimes they could be defective
