What is the actual name of trunk lid?
My trunk lid, the part that attaches to the spoiler and window + metal window trim, the 4 by 1 piece of metal with the hook on it for the trunk latch, what on Earth is the actual name of that? Mine is rusted to bits and it's cheaper to just buy a new one and paint it. I swear to you I cannot find it under trunk lid. Any help would be appreciated!

If I'm looking at it right, the Parts and Illustration Catalog has it listed as a PANEL, Compt Lift Wdo.

These cars are hatch-backs. They don't have a deck...

Re: What is the actual name of trunk lid?
I was able to find the part on Gm's diagrams using that part number. Apparently it's a lift gate? I can't seem to find anything searching for the part under that name, Google for the love of God keeps bringing up lift kits. I did find something under deck lid though.
Hey guys! I wanna thank you all so much, I was able to get one ordered because of your help. Love this forum!

Yeah, lots of parts have specific names from the manufacturer... but at this age, as all the parts would be used..... you have to go by the more common word / name people give them... or else youll never find it!

Re: What is the actual name of trunk lid?
The good news is that a deck lid is pretty much a deck lid, doesn't matter what car it comes from. Though you are more likely to get one with all the holes in correct places if you look for a decklid for your specific car. Otherwise its should be simple enough for a body shop to weld up the holes and drill new correct ones for your particular car during the painting process.
