Hi,
My iroc-z hood strut on the driver's side keeps popping out of the hood rod. I have tried to adjust the c-clip but it has worked a couple of times. It looks like the tip where the ridge is found is worn out; I believe the strut caused it. I want to ask if anybody has had a similar problem and how they went to fix it.
Any suggestion is appreciated!

 

Short of replacing the hinge, if you can, weld it and reshape the head. Or clamp down the ends of the clips so the grip the worn out head tighter. I think mostly your options are limited though.
