If not i was going to find some transparent testors orange enamel paint and use that. What do you think?

Use Meguires plastic cleaner and polish, or else 3M Perfect-It to polish up the exterior. If the interior is really dirty, you just have to get in there with whatever you can, not easy. Turn signal lens housings are still available from the dealer. I'm not a fan of the orange paint idea, but hey, if that is what you like, might as well be different and go for it.

You could also use rubbing compound. Thats what I used and the lenses look brand new, cleans em right up.

if you have a paint and body supply house nearby-try getting some 3m brand stuff called "finesse-it" finishing material.it is made to final machine buff paint but if you use a soft towel by hand on the lenses with that stuff it turns out like new-as long as the damage on the lenses isnt thru the plastic

thanx guys.. i think i want to try to clean it before i paint it... have to look at 82-84s more to see if i like it orange...
take the turn signal out of the car and put it in your bench vise, take some 2000 grit sandpaper and rough it up, then take the 3M machine glaze, for a buffer and apply it. then run a buffer over the lenses, and ta-freaking-da. brand new.
