Right front turn signal

I have an 88gta. I’ve owned the car for almost two years. Ive been aware that the light doesn’t work, but since I figure I should get an inspection done finally I should fix that.

No power at the turn signal bulb, and the little side marker also doesn’t flash when signal is on.

rear lights work

dash signal indicator for right front signal also doesn’t work. Could be coincidence, no idea. I did probe the wire in the engine Bay and it had about 1v at it with signal on…where else should I be looking. Interior somewhere?

If theres not 12v at the lights they won't work even with new bulbs. Im not completely sure but maybe fiddle with hazard switch... I know the blinkers are sometimes routed through them, possibly bad connection inside it.

Re: Right front turn signal

I just had this issue yesterday with 86 trans am and the right front side marker i checked the voltage at the socket and had no volts. But the right front parking/turn on front bumper was working with no issue. They were on the same circuit per the GM repair manuals (blue+/brown-). I looked closer at the socket and realized there was significant corrosion on the socket conductors so much I couldnt get a trace of voltage. Had to turn the battery off and scrape (quite thoroughly). I plugged the bulb in, turned the power on and let there be light! Maybe this helps?!

Had a similar issue but I ended up replacing the socket as the corrosion was right where the wires made their connection to the connectors for the bulb, pretty sure I got the replacement from Rockauto.
