Stopping Dash Vibrations

Stopping Dash Vibrations

Some one please help I have a 1984 pontiac firebird and when i go above 75 the whole dash starts to vibrate and rattle violently. What can I do to stop this?

dont drive over 75...........

its possible that some of the bolts/screws that hold the dash have came out (mine was missing bout half of them when i took the int out).. if u what to spend the time and effort, u could put blocking/padding behind the dash.

You can do a few things. First I would try and secure the dash down with every possible screw. Next I would figure out why my car was vibrating so bad at 75mph. This is usually but not limited to; wheel alignment, old tires, stock steel driveshaft, and unbalanced tires (missing balancing clip or flat spot(s)).

I had the same problem on my 84 Bird. I replaced the steel driveshaft with an aluminum one. Now it's alot easier to speed cause the car doesn't feel like it's gonna fall apart anymore.
