Replaced Shocks an All 4 Corners
Today, after lunch,I undertook the task of replacing all 4 shocks on my 1984 T/A with new KYB hardware. Purchased them from Rockauto.
The fronts were tough but with a good soaking with Liquid Wrench penetrating oil & a strong electrically powered impact wrench, I had the front struts replaced 3+ hrs.
R/R the rears was another story as I had to remove the rear seat base & pull up upholstery to get at the shock top nuts & they were not friendly removers. Thankfully I have 3 floor jacks.
I still have to reinstall one seat back, reinstall the wheels & job will be completed, tomorrow.
I will have to wait a couple days before a road test since it is raining & more expected..
The old shocks were no good at all. After 40 years, what can u expect.
Now my back is sore & tomorrow I will be suffering. Will take a pill tonight.
