Weather Strip Channel and Drip Rail Tape?

So, I pulled the window weather strip off (92 Camaro) and then removed the screws for the weather strip channel. I found it had a rubber like double back tape the full length of the channel which appears to form a seal. I heated that and gently pulled the channel down and out. I then found the drip rail has about 4 tabs that also use a thin double back rubber like tape to hold it in place. I carefully heated those and pulled the drip rail down and out. I have a little surface rust to clean up and repaint under the channel and drip rail before I put it back together. Anybody have a recommendation for new double back tape for both pieces to reinstall them?

Re: Weather Strip Channel and Drip Rail Tape?

Other than 3M tape, this is the only tape I have found advertised for the specific application:

https://www.camarocentral.com/1967_1..._p/wea-199.htm

With the 3M tape I am concerned that it is a bit too thick. With the Camaro Central tape, it says it is only 1/16 inch thick so should be ok from that standpoint but I am concerned whether it will keep the water out since it says it is a foam tape where as the original looks like solid rubber. It is also 3/4 inch wide but the original on my car was 1 inch wide.
