Two tone Firebirds

Is the lower red, black and gray painted? decal? If they are decals has anyone removed and have any good tips? Thanks!
Maybe that title should read quad tone, ha.

If your paint looks like this and is original, the lower dark color is painted with pin striping on the border.

Thank you. I updated the original to be more clear. Never noticed that style before. Thanks again.

The lower color is painted and the 87-88 2 color stripe is a decal.
same with 89-90 but its a different decal design.

Re: Two tone Firebirds

you can remove the decals easily with a decal eraser wheel attachment for a drill

don't be surprised, though, if the factory paint lines between the two colors are not as crisp as you'd like. they didn't make much effort on them knowing they'd be covered.

Thanks for the reply. Will it be red clearcoat underneath?

As far as I know, the car was painted, lower color painted, and then decal applied.
