1990 Camaro RS, checking the floors and structure.
Ok, finally got the carpet out today. I’m finding some very small areas of rust and some holes. The patches of rust that don’t have holes, I’m killing with evapo-rust and brushing with a wire brush. For the hole… I guess that I’ll have to prepare to cut and patch weld them? I only spot I found that had the biggest hole so far is further up the floor, probably up near the petals (there’s some kind of rubber mat that was there that I hadn’t removed) I found it from under the car (last picture). My most important question though is to see if anyone knows if there’s a website that sells the seat mounting brackets? I’m hoping there is or someone has one they are willing to sell. I don’t have very many junkyards around me and I’m sure that the ones that are around won’t have third gen Camaros in them. Any advice, tips, and suggestions would be very appreciated! Thanks in advance!
To my unexperienced eyes, this floor pan and underneath don’t look bad for sitting outside for 17 years.
