Heritage Stripes
Cheapest way I can think to do it is to get some 3M blue plastic masking tape and some Red automotive rattlecan paint. Mask it off and paint. The original decals were semi-gloss, and painting it with rattlecan should give you a similar finish, or if you want clear over it. Only other thing you would need is some measurements.
The best cheap way, is to buy the stencil set like NextGen offers. That way, you're getting the correct size and style for the stripes, and you can paint it to within your budget (either rattlecan or pro base/clear).
please save up and do it the right way, our cars have such a negative image to most as it is........i'd really hate to see you use spray paint! but, it is your car to do what you will........

there is a guy on Ebay who sells the vinyl heritage stripes and also carries the stencils for the stripes if you prefer them painted on(i do) I haven't bought anything from him but I mightin the near future......
Hmmm, didn't know that Nextgen offered stencils, learn something new every day round here. If you have the ability to lay down tape properly though, I'd still go that route and save the money.

I contacted this seller I found through ebay. He actually has kits available that include the roof!
I believe for like $50 more so that would bring the total to just a little over $100, the decals are supposed to be the exact dimenions as the originals from GM. I would have already purchased a kit myself but to date he does not have kits for convertibles, but at the time I emailed him he and his distributor were still working on the kits. So I kept his email addy to be able to check in from time to time to get the progress on the kits. The kits are available in all of the orignal factory colors:
Red
Black
White
Silver
Gold
Here is his email address:
Decalsource@aol.com
However if by the time I have my RS painted and ready for new stripes, and he still has not kits for verts I plan on purchasing the kit from Classics. I would much rather have real decals applied then try some paint spraying action
