Considering the gfx don't really extend squat past the bottom of the rocker panels, you'd have to do some hacking for this to truely work (I'm assuming you're wanting it to look like the mustang fx/exhaust thing they have). If I'm making the wrong assumption, ignore the above.
yeah....i want some 3inch tips molded into the ground effects. I want one on the left and one on the right. i know its gonna take some hacking underneath because the g/e dosent clear far from the underside of the car but i think it would be a nice setup.

I have though about this idea, but descided if i even attempt it, it would have to be in a few years when i can afford to do alot of custom work to get it to look clean and fit nicely. unfortanitly i have to pass emisions, so that makes it that much harder for me, cause i have to find room for a cat, and mufflers

The 84 sport coupe which I am purchasing is currently equipped with side pipes. Due to no emissions here, I am going to leave them on until I decide what to do about an exhaust.

there are links that show a couple side views of the 84, where you can see the side pipes.
EDIT-- I also should note that the side pipes on the 84 are only 2 inch pipes. Therefore, they don't flow very well.

ive thought about this over and over, i know its possibly but i cant seem to fiqure out how to do it, closest i came to make it work was like someone else said , get the side runners from that corvette magazine, and try to make those work, only thing is they will be shorter since corvettes are shorter then our cars, i believe
ok.....does anyone know anybody who can build a custom ground effect? I know its gonna be some work, but man itll be nice when im done!! Bout to be workin two jobs so mods should start coming in a little better. Hopefully anyway! My goal is to make the big camaro show next year and have something to show off. take it easy.....

I think Blue is the only one who understands what v8 is talking about. The cusom gfx thing is s seeminly good idea but, I think having to make it about 4" thicker to accomodate exhaust wouldn't look right & would be too close to the ground.
To feasably do this the rocker panel & part of the lower front ¼ would have to be cut off & boxed in (pic below). The problem there is part of the rocker to floorpan seam would also have to be cut out & boxed in. Then the problem would be the LCA mount would be a tight squeeze to fit the pipe between. It's a good idea but unless you've got the skill/patience to do this yourself, it wouldn't be a cost effective mod and personally, I don't think it would look right since that part of the gfx behind the dorr isn't all that larg to put a tip in there like the mustang have &look like it supposed to be there.

I knew what you were talking about, but the previous owner ran into clearance problems with anything bigger than a 2 inch pipe, according to his measurements.
I don't like the pipes, but I'll run them until I can put a better exhaust on the car.

I have a true dual 3" exhaust that exits in front of the rear tires and I had thought of running them through the gfx, but I have a power seat on the drivers side so the floor pan is lower and it wouldn't work. If you got oval tubing, you could probably do it, but quite expensive. I got my system done for $300.. this pic is old so you can't see it but road clearance is an issue
I've also drawn out and put some thought into this question and came to the conclusion that it would require a lot more fabrication and innovation that I was willing to put into something like that (and I like fabricating and innovaring). I guess I didn't like the look enough to do it.
Also, CarNDrvr did not do this. All he did was run the pipe to exit in that location, they didn't run through the GFX.
All floor pans are the same.

I guess my car is just a freak then, 'cause my drivers side floor panel is almost 2" lower than my passenger side. Unless your saying that all of them are like this. I went through about 2hrs of decision making with the exhaust shop because of it, deciding on how to run it.

I think exhaust was an afterthought on these cars to begin with anyways.

Yeah, nosaint did the back bumper thing. He notched his bumper and raised the pipes to match. Very clean look.
Haven't seen pics of car n driver's car in a while....man that was a beautiful camaro. whoever bought it (I'm pretty sure he sold it) is one lucky guy.
