Cheap/Easy Interior Tricks

I'm wondering what everyone has for simple interior-picker-uppers. Do we have any martha stewarts on the boards? lol. This is what i've found out:

1) At your local AUTOZONE you can pick up red-raised-plastic chevy emblums that are used to go on the fenders/outisdes of cars - I put one on the center of my console and it really brightened the car up - and it matches my floor mats too. Not bad for $2!!

Any others?

Man, we don't have any advanced autos here in Oregon. No type R badge for my ***** 'maro I guess :sillylol:

Common interior mods include white gauge faces, shift *****, shifters, steering wheels, extra gauges, a-pillar gauge pods, 4thgen consoles, 4thgen seats, custom door panels, wood (yuck) or carbon fiber dash kits, stereo stuff, fuzzy dice.

You'd be surprised what a thorough cleaning can do. Often, right after I vaccuum the carpet, somebody getting into my car asks if the interior is new. That never happens when it's got a lot of sand in the carpet...

Heres a real cheap one.... Take all your interior out and bolt 1 one seat in..... you can do it at home, its cheap, and let me just tell you, you get QUITE a few looks...

(Plus it scares ricers, they think your some kinda rally car or somthin.)

All that I've done is hang a pair of handcuffs from my rear view. One cool thing about that is that its more of an interior accessory, but can be seen from the outside from a distance. And a its a good conversation starter when I new chick gets in your car for the first time, lol.

I had one that tops them all, but I can't find my magazine with the link. There's a company that makes "anatomically correct" hoola dancers.

You could send away for one of those hot Russian mail order brides. Some of them would probably look good on your interior. Not so simple, but it might be worth it, lol

another cool trick is if you remove the cover of your guage panel (if you have a 'maro) and the black thing, you'll notice the turn signal lenses are about the same size as Mini-Mag Lense. I put Red lenses on there and man that looks good.

Well I am currently doing the BLUE LED thingy that 89 IROC wrote up. Expect that to be pretty bad *** if you ask me. Also I putin 2 blue neon tubes under my dash board to throw some light at night and I also painted all my AC/Heater vents a gray to mactch the cloth in my seat and to match the pinstrip. I personally like the touch of it all.

I hung a hawk's skull I found from my rearview mirror--looked cool in th' bird. Otherwise, glue or staple some old **** carpeting (you can usually get tons of it free in the springtime after peeps' basments flood) on the interior for a "retro" look. That or do the same with old jeans to get a nice "Levi's Series" look that the old Gremlins had.

Fake alarm LED

I drilled out one of the plastic socket head cap screws on the cigarette lighter bezel and mounted a water-clear red led there with a snap in LED holder. When it's off, you can't tell it's there unless you look real close. I put the home made LED flash driver PC board (before they came out with the LED's with flashers in them) in the overhead console and mounted the on/off switch in behind the flashlight. Remove the flashlight to gain access to the switch.

It wasn't cheap, per se...it cost me 5 stitches and the feeling in one of my fingertips due to a real dumb razor blade accident.

Another dumb thing...now everyone knows it's fake.

Ive got fuzzy dice and its all clean. Im trying to get a couple blacklight tubes to mount around the interior(under the seats, dash, headliner maybe, not all sure yet) just to throw some light in it at night and a switch panel where the ashtray used to be out of blagh walnut until i finish my aluminum one.

Dude, get the velcro stuff that comes with both sides that are sticky, peel of the stuff that covers the sticky sides, stick one part of them to each end of a black light ($20 at Autozone) and put it right above the rear-view mirror. Holds great, it hasn't even begun to droop down after a couple months, even though I have rattled my rear-view mirror off bout 4 times. Looks tight as hell and even shines on the hood on the outside. It also glows over both front peeps. To get it to glow in the whole car, put it right in front of the dome light w/ the screws. It lights everyone, including anything in the trunk. I only had a prob w/ keepin it up with the screws cuz there was nothin to screw into so thats why I moved it above my mirror. Also it still gets the peeps in back from above the rear-view mirror, just not as good. I'll post a pic when I get home from school.

Don't forget the fuzzy dice and the air freshener that looks like a king's crown. Also you can hang pom poms all around the windows and cover your dash in zebra fur.

BS on your BS buddy, I've had almost 10 (including me) peeps in mine, and some were big football players along with cheerleaders. I had 3 in the passenger seat, one in my lap steerin while I ran gas/brake/clutch (it was my hot ace GF to be exact) Then in the back 2 in each passenger seat, and one sittin on the hump in the middle. Then if I didn't have my subs in the back I coulda put one or 2 more there!! I wanted pics, and this one girl said she had a camera, so we took some pics, then bout a week later she wrecked her car and it burnt up her camera . It was coo though, I wanna try it again sometime.
