whats wrong here?? (arm rest problem)

OK, for some strange odd reason caused by some unseen force of nature, the inner part of my arm rests are folding out!! I can't push them back in, and it is very uncomfortable to rest your arms on them. So anyone got any ideas on this? these aren't very good pics, but im gonna try to get better ones, so work w/ me plz

Aw yes, the glue holding the vinyl to the inner part of the armrest has worn out and will continue to peel. You can fix that by taking them off and putting new glue inbetween the two, then get two 2x4s and a C-clamp,put the blocks on each side and clamp it down and let set for a day or so.

I finally got around to pullin them off, but I don't know what kind of glue to use. Any suggestions?

When I had that problem with my old interior I used this exposy stuff at advance auto. I had to mix to tubes of stuff together. I forget what kind it was but it worked fine until I sold all my red interior ans bought black interior.

i tried using some contact cement that you brush on...worked good for about a month or so, but then it started to come apart...could be because the stuff was so old tho.

I suggest using some type of epoxy, as they are usually the strongest

dont use liquid nails, that is for woor. you plastic epoxy, should gome in 2 tubes that you mix together.

I've started gluin them together, got a 2 part apoxy, but I only have 3 clamps, and I borrowed those from school, so it could take a while. I'll get pics when im done.

hey quick question about your sig. what exactly are tubular t top holders??? the bag is all i know about ...i've installed my amp and 2 12's and i'm lookin for an alternate holding method for my tops..thanks

that happened to me too ... tried to fix it but it happened again ... finally gave up and bought a set of black ones off ebay for $20 and they've been good for a year now.

I think originally the armrests were molded, and as they age they seem to shrink, thats why its pulling away... Glue should help some tho, not sure for how long.

When my center console started to seperate, I first used rubber cement, it did not hold overnight, so i removed that, and use superglue, been like that since 1997, and still holding. I had to clean all the stuff off of it but its done.

Got them done, they look decent, but they had both shrunken enuf that they didnt fit right around the edges so I did the best I could. They look better than before though, and are even more comfortable cuz my arm isn't resting on that corner part. So im pleased, for now, until I can buy some perfect ones off ebay.
