I am replacing my stock steel hood on my 92 Camaro RS a fiberglass bolt on Cowl Hood. The Cowl Hood weighs 37 lbs. How much weight will I be losing?

 

quite a bit, unfortunately i wasn't able to weigh my hood when i removed her because of the overall size; makes it difficult for one person to hold it over a scale.

when i had the hood off the car didn't feel all that much different though. i would assume somewhere around 75 pounds maybe; but i could be off....they are heavy either way.

be careful with a fiberglass hood, fiberglass hoods cause alot of problems.

I think the problems Kandied is talking about is that 90% of fiberglass hoods fit like **** and require a lot of body work to get the finish ready for paint before they are ready to be bolted on. I have yet to see a fiberglass hood that was ready to be painted and bolted on out of the box.
