ABS sensor mount? Maybe it's only on one side because you have 2 different year-model backing plates...did they come off a donor car or did you buy them seperately?
I know the ABS pickup was on the ring gear for a while, but I believe they moved it to the wheels at some point (I think the same year they started using traction control.) I know the later 4th gens had 4-channel ABS.
Just a WAG...

came from a donor axle with 3 channel ABS, so no sensor there, but that hole was empty as the axle was already partially disassembled, but i got it from grahm's camaro salvage, so they are kinda shady...i'll probably just plug it up somehow.

That is the traction contol sensor/ABS sensor. cars with Traction control got 4 channel ABS, vs 3 channel that the non TRAC cars got. 3 channel cars had one sensor in the top of the pumpkin with a reluctor ring next to the ring gear.

Smart money says that the original was bent or broken (car may have been hit in the rear) and Graham's just grabbed another one and stuck on it. You might want to check to make sure everything's straight if you're using the housing.
FWIW I've had a few dealings with Graham's....they are located about 30 min from me. I don't deal with them unless I have no other choice. The guy that strips the cars is cool, but I don't like Billy at all.

yeah, i live 45 minutes from grahm's too, it's kinda like a last resort for me too, i had to get backing plates to assemble my axles for my ford 9", so no i'm not using the housing, just brakes and brake lines, brackets and such. I'll just plug it somehow.
