Need advice with brake selection please.
I didn't want to hijack the other thread about brakes so I made a new one.
Here is my setup. Stock brakes up front on my 91 rs and lt1 brakes on the rear. 17" c5 wheels at the corners. I will be upgrading the rear so I will need another setup for that too. I don't forsee any change to 16" in the future so I am not too concerned with fitment issues(for a 16" wheel) at the moment.
I am looking for a economical setup that is not overkill for my needs. Occasional drag use(1/4 speeds over 120), and a lot of street use. I may do some autox but even less than drag use. I need something that won't break the bank.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike.

You could go with LS1 [12"] front brakes for cheapest upgrade, or you could spend ~$150 more and get the C4 HD [13"] brakes.
You shouldn't need upgraded brakes for trapping 120 but you will definately notice it and be pleasantly surprised for street use with either upgrade.
If it were me and I planned on running 17" wheels a lot but still have the option to go back to 16" wheels in the future, I would choose the C4 HD.

If you have 17" wheels go for C5s. For a little less money go for the C4 HDs, great brakes also. It's really a preference thing. I run the HDs and they're great.

Thanks. I would get the c5 but don't want to "have" to use the 17. Just looking into the possiblity of using a smaller/lighter whell at the drag strip.
I guess C4 hd would be the way to go. About how much am I looking at spending? Any places online to get a used setup from?
Thanks, Mike.

I doubt you will find a used C4 HD setup, possibly in the classifieds of this board but it'll be slim pickings.

If you keep your 16" wheels, go with the HDs, you'll be happy with them no doubt. As for parts, there's Ebay and Corvette Forum, I'd look there...or send me a PM, I have some sources as well.
