How does this sound for a brake setup
Rear LT1 disc brakes off a 96, earl's braided lines to all 4 corners. My car is a 32K mile 91z28 that originally came with rear drums. Can anyone suggest a good brake fluid and brake pads.
Would this type of setup work or will I need more to make this car stop good. Do I need larger rotors and calipers? I do have 17" firehawk wheels.
I have gotten very spoiled with a new maxima and would like to update the camaro. I really do appreciate any help.

Most people like to use the 1le/ls1 setups.
Some people use C4 or C5 setups. There are a few howto on the forum look for i believe vsixtoy and Nolanr???

The 12" LT1 rears are plenty of rear brake for our cars, I recommend nothing else. Install those out back and look into a decent 12" or 13" upgrade for the front brakes and you'd be all set. Fluid is pretty much the same unless you always race the car, then you may want something better than OEM stuff. Just keep the fluid clean in the lines and calipers and you'll be fine.

Ed. for the rear I have the rotors, calipers and mounting plates. I have a pretty good idea on how to swap the LT1 rears in. Will my stock 91 parking brake cable work on this swap with the LT1 rear discs? And is it a good idea to use the earls braided hyper lines, if yes do I just use the kit for front and rear for my disc/drum setup now with the upgraded brakes I am planning? I did a search and did not see any answers to my specific questions. Seems like your the guru around here.....

Then you can use those parts and get disc brake e-brake cables and hard axle lines. Your drum cables won't work without modifying them and it's easier to buy new ones than waste time messing with those you have, same thing goes with the hard axle lines...buy new from Fine Lines or Inline Tube. Yes, use Earl's lines for the best performance. Buy lines for the brakes you will have...28A180 for the standard disc/disc, 28A190 for the 1LEs/C4s/C5s.
Let me know if I need to clarify anything..

Where can I get the E-brake cables, dealer, napa etc etc? I was checking jegs and 28a180 is for a pair of lines for front discs only. 28A190 is for 85-92 with OE 4wheel discs. Thanks for the help.

E-brake cables are discontinued from GM. I get them from Napa for about $20 each.
Earl's has changed their part numbers on me, sorry. In any case, buy for the brakes you will have and install them when you swap over.
