LS1 on 10 bolt disc

i read a lot of the LS1 on 9 bolt drum brakes, but what about on the 10 bolt disc rears, I have a spare 98 1LE rear for a friends. Was going to swap the whole thing but decided to stay with the stock rims. Any Info.

They made a 9 bolt drum brake axle?

Yes they did. In fact my buddy, Nate86 on the boards, has a 85 T/A that has a 9 bolt with rear drums. I'll check with him to see what the RPO code for it is.

There is alot on how to convert to LS1 rear brakes on a 10-bolt. The article you probably read is how to convert a 10-bolt drum to LS1 brakes, which can be found here https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...eardisc.shtml. I don't want to sound like an *** or anything but you should do some searches

I have read almost if not all of the post about rear disc brakes, it seems like there all for the 9-bolt not the 10 bolt

I think it would be the same method for either axle, all late model thirdgens with rear disks had the same rear disk setup stock. That is if you mean 89 1LE instead of 98 1LE.

The 9-bolt has a different flange bolt pattern then the 10-bolt rear. To covert a 10-bolt drum use the link I posted in my last post. If it is a drum rear out of a 1998 4'th gen F-body you will need to look up a how to on a 4'th gen site unless the drums are the same setup as the thirdgen's.

I have posted info in the past about the Wilwood LS1 rear brake kit. It is vetually identical in the fact it has an internal drum parking brake assembly and it bolts directly to a 3rd or 4th gen rear disc brake 10-bolt housing. That info is under "Billyboy". I have had so many *** damn names its hard to keep this crap straight. LS1 4th Fronts wilwood retro check out under "Vsixtoy"
