LS1 rear pbr disk brakes
Quick question for everyone. I've searched and have called local auto part stores to no avail. Will stock 1991 Firebird rear axle hard lines for an original drum set up attach directly to the flexible hose line going to the caliper (LS1 pbr)? I don't know what type of fittings they are and can't seem to find out from any place I call. Just wondering how you guys have been swapping your set-ups.
Thanks for any help guys,
Jim

I think you'd be OK using lines from a disc rear but not drums. I've not worked much with the LS1 rear brakes tho, I stick to the LT1s so I'm not real sure.

I thought the hard axle lines were the same for disk and drum set-ups on a third gen. Do you think I need the 1le lines to fit into the stock location and then get the hose ends? Is there a difference between the LS1 and LT1 brakes besides size?
Thanks,
Jim

They're not the same..the drum lines run all the way to the wheel cylinders on the backing plate, the disc lines stop short of that right behind the LCA mounts, and actually bolt to them with a bracket. I'd just buy a new set of disc lines from Fine Lines Inc and be done with it.

iirc the bracket for the parking brake line also has a retainer for the hard line. i just went to autozone and got some line (dont remember what length) with the propper fitting and put them on (little bending required), and used the stock ls1 rubber lines
