Those with slotted/drilled rotors:

To those with rotors with good casted slots or drilled holes (or both), have you experienced any problems with cracking? I am going to be ordering a Baer kit soon for a hell of a nice price and I have the option to have 1 or 2 piece rotors ($188 more) with any style I want: plain, slotted, drilled, drilled and slotted, or any of them zinc washed all for the same price.

it depends, the drilled and slotted look nice , deffy get the zinc wash. If you race the car like road racing get soild rotors or just slotted, but other wise get drilled and slotted, but not if you use this car in the winter. The will really wreck them .

If you are going for larger diameter rotors and also very good quality rotors like Baer, then don't worry about the drilled rotors, they will not crack on you.

TYhe advantage of using drilled rotors on a larger diameter rotor is the surface contact patch with say a 12" rotor drilled still more surface area than the surface contact patch of an 11.65" non-drilled rotor- or at least very close to the same. I run 13" and have nuch greater surface area by far than the 11.65" 1LE rotors to disapate heat anbd the drills help reduce the rotation mass.

Yes, they will be Baer rotors, 13". I'll probably even sping the extra $188 for the two-piece rotors. Replacement cost is actually cheaper for the disc than the one-piece rotor.
