98+ Camaro "LS1" brake rotors:
i was told that these cars all use the same rotors:
00-02 BUICK Le Sabre w/ 16" wheels
97-00 BUICK Park Avenue
97-99 BUICK Riviera
97-02 CADILLAC Deville, Eldorado
97-02 CADILLAC Seville
98-02 CHEVROLET Camaro
00-02 CHEVROLET Impala
00-02 CHEVROLET Monte Carlo
97-02 OLDSMOBILE Aurora
98 OLDSMOBILE Intrigue Heavy Duty
00-02 PONTIAC Bonneville, Catalina Executive SSEI, SLE Model
98-02 PONTIAC Firebird, Formula, Trans Am
does anyone know for sure about any of these? if thats true, what about the calipers? and if i got new rotors for a new impala would they work with the 98+ fbody brake swap??

You can use this site to check the part numbers and see:
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/partsvoice/frameset.cfm
I have also noticed most of gm’s new cars are using the same brake design. It also seems like a lot of fords use the same design.
It’s important to note that though some of these cars may use the same brake pads that does not mean the calipers are the same.

Well, according to www.rockauto.com, the answer is yes, they are all the same, and priced VERY well too, BTW.

According to the part search on gmpartsdirect.com none of these cars have the same caliper part number as the F-body LS1 brakes. So I would assume that means they are different but I have not way of knowing with out a side by side comparison.
Here’s what I came up with:
Camaro \ Firebird 1998-2002
Front,Left 18042491
Front,Right 18042492
97-02 CADILLAC Deville, Eldorado - Front Left: 18046196
97-02 CADILLAC Seville - Front Left: 18046192
00-02 CHEVROLET Impala - Front Left: 18046196
00-02 CHEVROLET Monte Carlo - Front Left: 18046196
97-02 OLDSMOBILE Aurora - Front Left: 18046196
98 OLDSMOBILE Intrigue Heavy Duty - Front Left: 18046196
00-02 PONTIAC Bonneville, Catalina Executive SSEI, SLE Model – Front Left 18046196

Yeah, those would be for the standard brakes. The non-LS1 cars would have got those pictured above...correct?

Those are the GM 18046196 for Dudes post above. The camaro has same calipers whether ls1 or not. That is what others have said and from what I have found.

Just to clear things those are not the camaro ones and are not the ones we want. Those do come on some other chevies that use the same rotors as the camaro.

So the rotors would be OK, just not the calipers.
