C5 brakes question

I just searched through like 50 posts and can't find the info I'm looking for. Anyone have a link to the C5 or LS1 brake threads, I can't find them anywhere. Anyway, my question is this: how thick are the C5 corvette rotors? I was told that they are 1.1 inch thick by someone who I thought would know, but then I was told that they are less than an inch thick by a GM tech I ran into at work today. I already ordered the calipers and I just want to make sure that the BMW 745 rotors I am going to use will fit in the caliper cariers. The BMW rotors are aprox. 1.15 in. thick. Thank you. Oh yeah, anyone know of a company that makes custom hubs? Im trying to decide whether to make complete hubs or just bolt on wheel spacers.

C4HD rotors at 1.1" thick. C5 rotors 1.25" thick.

I am using the BMW rotors because I am a BMW technician and I get them for free. When they are below spec for a 5500 pound 745 there is still plenty left for a 3500 Camaro. Also they are 13 3/4 inch. The bolt pattern is the same and I have to extend the hub surface because I am also using 18 inch BMW 545 sport wheels (at least until I get a complete set of M5 wheels). So it realy will not take much extra work.

These are the wheels I am going to use until I get a complete set of M5 wheels. I think they are to pretty to be on a Camaro though. The car is silver now and the wheels look pretty good, but I dont think they will look right after the car is painted orange.

So you're saying BMW 745 front rotors have the same bolt pattern and are 13 3/4"? They fit? This would be great!!!

Sorry about the screwed up picture. There was a storm and it fried my computer and now it will not hook up to the internet. I will fix it once I can get on with my computer. BMW's have the same bolt pattern as Chevys. The rotors however have 1 inch more offset than the LS1 rotors. I will also be using BMW wheels though, which require a 1 inch spacer to fit properly so I will be making a bolt on 1 inch spacer to fit my wheels and the rotor will bolt to the outside of the spacer. Also the center hole of the rotor that centers it on the hub is much larger than a chevy hub. I am only using these rotors because I get them for free and I have to use spacers to make the wheels fit anyway so its not really any more work to do it. I wouldn't really consider using BMW rotors to be an option if they were not free because they are extremely expensive. I suppose you could use them with 4th gen wheels but you would probably have to make a 2 piece spacer to sandwich the rotor or have an extremely thick bracket. I would get in good with a BMW tech to get some free used rotors though because they cost around $100 each for new ones. When they are below spec for a 745 they still have more material on them than a C4 HD rotor. (I know this because I have C4 HDs on my 69 Camaro)

Word of caution here... BMW bolt spacing is 120mm where GM stock is 4 3/4" so when converted the BMW is 0.7mm smaller. I know its not much but others have had issues with BMW wheels flying off etc. Please be careful and plan your approach here wisely so you dont accidentally kill someone from a wheel flying off. Do a search on BMW wheels and you should find lots of info. I run BMW Borbets on my car and ended up drilling out my wheels and using a half taper seat half mag wheel collar nut. Works well for me so just thought I would mention it.
